How to fix validating identity

Verifying your identity helps you protect your data.

If when accessing sensitive information from this device, if Microsoft suspects fraudulent activity, they will ask you to enter a security code which will be sent to your Microsoft Account email ID or your mobile phone number.

It will be either a part of your email ID or your mobile phone number.

Once this is done, you will be sent a security code.

Clicking on the popup notification or in the Action Center will initiate the process. Under Your accounts you will see a Verify your identity on this PC link.

If the box was checked, then that was why you were getting the “unable to find a certificate to log you on to the network” message because Windows is looking for one, but your wireless router is not setup for certificate security. Once I unchecked that box and tried to reconnect to the wireless network, everything worked fine!

Ok so I setup the router to only transmit wireless N and to use WPA2 only.

Click on Verify and the following window will open.

On recent Windows 10 versions, you will see the setting here – Settings Enter the details which are asked for.
